916 ink has created an innovative and highly successful program engaging children in the reading process by first teaching them to write. This week, I interview a 916 ink board member and two students of the program, who also read a poem they have each written. And, we visit Crater Lake National Park.
Sixty-five year old Miss Delta spent her younger years in Oakland alongside leaders of the black, Chicano and feminist movements in the 1960’s. She also opened for two musical icons. She’s motivational and inspirational. And, we visit Keweenaw National Historic Park.
